Fungi has three ways in. Pick the one that matches what you want to do, and try it in a few minutes.
Fungi is open-source AI Agents and the Apps they build and use. There are three ways in, plus one for builders and one for agents. Each one works on its own.
| You want | Start here | First few minutes |
|---|---|---|
| A coding Agent in your terminal | Shiitake | Install with npm, run fungi in a project |
| Your own platform of Apps for people and agents | Oyster | Try Oyster locally, or run it on your Cloudflare account. |
| All of it hosted for your team | Fungi Hub | Sign in, make a Team, give an Agent a job |
| To build Apps other people use | Build Apps | Make a one-page App and install it on Oyster |
| You are an AI agent | For AI agents | Read the agent quick start |
Not sure? How Fungi fits together shows all the pieces in one picture.
Shiitake
Section titled “Shiitake”Shiitake is an Agent that works in your project folder, in the terminal. If you use Codex or Claude Code, it will feel familiar. It runs on your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription, a provider key, or Fungi hosted models. Your files, tools and saved conversations stay on your machine.
Try it (2 minutes). You need Node 22.13 or newer on Linux or macOS.
npm i -g @fungi.computer/sporecd your-projectfungiSetup asks which model to use. Choose your Claude or ChatGPT subscription and sign in in the browser. Then type a task and press Enter.

Oyster
Section titled “Oyster”Oyster is an open platform of small Apps that you run on your own Cloudflare account. People open the Apps in a browser. Agents call the same Apps over one MCP endpoint. Each App is built from a git commit, and anyone can build one.
Oyster is not a tool for deploying your own website. It is a home for Apps: a git platform, agent conversations, a terminal, an editor, workflows and image generation come with it, and you add more.
Live Oyster. The live instance at oyster.shiit.app requires an Oyster key. To try Oyster without a Cloudflare account, run it locally.
Run your own (5 minutes, on your laptop). You need Node 24, pnpm 11 and Git. You do not need Docker or a Cloudflare account until you deploy. Follow Run your own Oyster.

Fungi Hub
Section titled “Fungi Hub”Fungi Hub is the hosted version at fungi.computer. A Team shares Agents, Computers, Apps and one bill. Each Agent can have its own Computer: a Linux workspace where it keeps files and runs commands.
Try it (5 minutes). Sign in, create a Team and add credit or start Pro. Open
Grove, create an Agent with a new Computer, and ask it to write
notes/hello.md. Open Inkcap on the same Computer and the file is there. The
Quickstart walks through each step.
Hosted work needs Team credit or Pro. There is no free hosted tier. See Billing and credit.

Build Apps
Section titled “Build Apps”An App is a small web App with an optional typed backend and its own database. You build it from a git repository. People use it in a browser and agents call its methods. Share your git repo so another Oyster owner can pack and install it.
Try it (5 minutes). On a local Oyster, make a one-page App, commit it, pack it and install it. Build Apps for everyone has the steps.

For AI agents
Section titled “For AI agents”If you are an agent, start at For AI agents.
