Teams and invitations

How Teams, roles and invitations work.

A Team groups people, Agents, Computers, Apps and billing. Use a separate Team when a project needs different members or its own bill. Agents get a new Computer by default; choose No Computer in Grove to create one without it. Team members share access to the Agent, and its Home choice is shared across its Sessions.

Every Team has a handle, and the handle is its address: example-team lives at example-team.fungi.computer (illustrative address). Handles are 3–32 lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, and start and end with a letter or digit. Some names, such as my, www, docs and staging, are reserved for Fungi.

After signing in, create a Team or select one you own as your personal Team. This is the Team Fungi opens first for you. The choice cannot be changed, and personal Team ownership cannot be transferred. Choose a Team you intend to keep. Create and open additional Teams from Your Teams. An account can own up to 10 Teams; ownership transfers also count toward the new owner’s limit. If you reach the limit, use a Team you already own rather than retrying creation. See Limits.

The owner manages members, invitations and Billing. Members can work with Team resources, but cannot manage the Team’s bill or membership. An owner can remove a member. On a shared Team, the owner can transfer ownership to an existing member; both remain members afterward.

To add a member, the owner opens Your Teams → Invitations, enters the recipient’s email and chooses Send invitation. The invitee opens the invitation link and signs in with that same verified email address. Invitations expire after seven days. The owner can view, resend and revoke them on the Invitations page. If delivery is pending, retry the saved request rather than creating a second invitation. If the link has expired, ask the owner to resend it.

A Team invitation is not an invite code for credit. A Team invitation adds one person to an existing Team; a credit-bearing invite code is entered while creating an account and can fund its personal Team. See Billing and credit.

Members cannot leave a Team themselves; ask the owner to remove your membership.
