Use Apps
Open your Team's Apps and choose the resources they may use.
Open the App launcher in your Team’s workspace and choose an App. Your dashboard is Tourtois unless the Team owner selects another App. Opening an App does not give it access to every Agent or Computer.
Choose a Computer and review access
Section titled “Choose a Computer and review access”For file and terminal work, use the host’s Computer picker to select the Computer you want. To inspect an Agent’s files, select its Home Computer if one is attached. Inkcap, Prints and Shed then work on that Computer’s resources.
When an App asks for access, review the operations and resources in the permission prompt. Reading files, writing files, running commands, creating Agents and sending messages are different permissions. An App can be installed but still lack permission for a task. To review access later, open the top mushroom menu, choose System Settings…, then App permissions or the App’s name. On a narrow screen, use the Settings category selector. Settings shows the Team’s current permissions; the host checks whether you may change them.
Arrange and return to Apps
Section titled “Arrange and return to Apps”The dock focuses an open App and restores a minimized one. Window controls minimize or close it. Closing an App can ask you to save or discard unfinished work; it does not stop an Agent’s accepted task.
Use Layout in the top bar to choose Tiled or Floating. When a window is zoomed, Restore layout returns to the unzoomed arrangement. The top bar’s App menus follow the focused window. Switching focus does not change another App’s selected Computer or Agent. When every App is minimized or closed, Tourtois shows Team Home, Recent and Apps so you can reopen one.
An App with its own navigation exposes Back in its window chrome. In Bazaar, Back returns from detail to the same gallery search, category and scroll position. It does not navigate away from your Team.
Pick a task
Section titled “Pick a task”| App | A first task | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Grove | Choose Create, select an Agent, then Start a conversation. | Read the reply and inspect the result. An accepted prompt can still be waiting. |
| Inkcap | Select a Computer, open a text file, edit it and choose Save. | Wait for save confirmation. Keep unsaved edits if the write fails. |
| Prints | Select a Computer and a media folder, enter an image prompt and generate. | Confirm that the result is saved and readable in that folder. |
| Shed | Select a Computer and open its terminal. | Check the connection and Run commands permission before running a command. |
| Bazaar | Search, open a listing, choose Install or Buy, then Open once installed. | Check availability, one-time price and the host’s confirmation. Browsing does not grant purchase permission. |
These tasks describe the Apps’ controls. A generated image or Agent reply depends on the selected model, funding and permissions. Local workbench fixtures do not prove live generation or payment.
Files and media
Section titled “Files and media”In Inkcap, Save file as saves a draft or copy at a chosen path and refreshes the explorer. A retained tab belongs to its original Computer; select that Computer before saving or reloading it. If the file changed elsewhere, ordinary Save refuses to overwrite it. Compare, Keep mine and Reload theirs let you inspect or resolve the conflict. See Open and edit a file for the exact choices, including Save As’s overwrite behavior.
In Prints, choose or explicitly create the destination folder before generating or uploading. Generation, saving and confirming completion are separate stages. The failed tile’s retry action or Retry in Activity reuses the same attempt. After reopening, Resume on an Unfinished image does the same. Starting a new generation creates new work and can incur another charge. An upload retries its captured destination rather than following a later Computer selection. See Make and save images for recovery and gallery controls.
In Shed, starting a web server and exposing its port are separate actions. Use the process list to check the server, then expose its application port for a preview where the deployment supports one. Processes do not survive Computer sleep.
Recover without losing work
Section titled “Recover without losing work”Read an error before retrying. Check the Team, selected resource, connection, permissions and billing. A failed operation is not proof that no changes happened. Inspect the file or task result before repeating work that writes, generates or sends something.
To change which App opens first, see Customize your Team dashboard. Selecting a dashboard does not give it special permissions.
